At the beginning of November 2004 aerial maker Nippon Antenna Co. Ltd. (EU) formerly opened its Euro¬pean Test Center in Northern Germany. The new radome that protects the test unit has a diameter of 26.14 meters (86 ft.) and is manufactured almost entirely from sandwich composites. It will be used to test the next generation of complex automotive aerial systems.
Often this type of construction uses multiple-segments that are bolted together via flanges on the edges of each panel. For optimum dielectric properties, Nippon Antenna required a dome that did not have any metal components and had a constant ‘wall’ thickness throughout.
The solution proposed by Hahlbrock GmbH and accepted by Nippon Antenna was the production of 86 Divi¬nycell-cored sandwich composite panels that are glued together using a tongue and groove system thereby creating a seamless construction.
Products & Services
Printed circuit materials have copper-clad surfaces for the fabrication of electronic and electrical circuitry on printed circuit boards (PCBs), printed wiring boards (PWB) or flexible circuits.
Panels and panel materials are composite structures which consist of multiple layers or skins bonded to or sandwiching a core material such as multilayer sheets, cored laminates or industrial structural panels.
Foam fabrication services providers produce products made from foam cores, foam plastic, cushioning foam, closed cell foam, acoustic foam, and polyurethane foam.
Chip antennas are semiconductor ICs used to collect or radiate electromagnetic waves.
Antennas are structures or devices used to collect or radiate electromagnetic waves.
