Full Overheating Protection
From davidonindustries.com

Developed by Ferro Techniek of the Netherlands and available in North America from Davidon Industries, the technology is called E-FAST®, which stands for electronic full sensor technology. The patent-pending concept is being used in thick-film heating elements to detect electrical current generated by an overheated part of a heating track.

According to Gerd Kloppers, Ferro’s development engineering manager, temperature protective devices such as bimetal switches, thermal fuses and negative temperature coefficient thermistors (NTCs) are limited in their performance by providing only local protection and delayed response. Designed as an integral part of the heating element, the sensor technology is said to offer full-area rapid response, overcoming challenges such as loss of thermal contact, delaminating and the risk of misplacing the sensor due to hot spots or thermal drift.

Products & Services
Temperature sensors are measurement devices that infer temperature by sensing some physical characteristic (i.e. resistance, emf or thermal radiation).
Thermistors are thermally-sensitive devices whose electrical resistance varies with temperature. Unlike RTDs and thermocouples, thermistors do not have standards associated with their resistance vs. temperature characteristics or curves.
Overload relays prevent an electric motor from drawing too much current and overheating; includes thermal and solid state overload types.
AC motor starters are used to turn-on and turn-off electric motors and motor-controlled equipment. They use solid-state or electromechanical technologies, and are designed for single-phase or three-phase motors.
Temperature instruments use contact or noncontact methods to measure temperature. Products include dial, digital, industrial and laboratory thermometers; temperature probes, indicators, and sensors; RTD elements and transmitters; and thermistors, thermocouples, thermopiles, and thermal switches.
