This paper presents the development of coordinated control of vehicle systems, specifically for controlled brakes and controlled steering systems. By utilizing a control structure to oversee a four-wheel-steer (4WS) system and a brake-based vehicle stability enhancement (VSE) system, it is possible to achieve improvements in vehicle stability and driver workload/comfort, and to reduce compromises in vehicle handling.
