From Met-Pro Corporation
Plant engineers at this manganese oxide production facility had been using dry dust collection systems for years, but they knew that when they began using steam injection in their new manganese oxide agitation/blending system, it would cause blinding of a dry dust collector. Blinding is a typical phenomenon which occurs when water vapor or steam condenses during ventilation of dust laden gases, or when collected dusts are hygroscopic. With dry dust collectors eliminated as an option, the facility engineers specified a 316L stainless wet dust collector. Their requirements included a system that would need minimal maintenance or operator intervention and one that could not be blinded or plugged. The engineers were also interested in a system with which they could reclaim the collected dust materials from the liquid sump collection hopper. Products & Services
Dust collectors are used in many processes to either recover valuable granular solid or powder from process streams or to remove granular solid pollutants from exhaust gases prior to venting to the atmosphere.

Air scrubbers, wet scrubbers, and gas scrubbers are air pollution control devices that use a high-energy liquid spray to remove aerosol and gaseous pollutants from an air stream. The gases are removed either by absorption or chemical reaction.

Baghouses and Depth Filters utilize air flow throw filter media (often in the shape of a bag) to capture particulate matter. Filter elements with pleated media and other porous materials (ceramics, glass fibers, etc.) are also used.
