From Learning Mastercam Mill Step by Step

5-8 Using the Circle Mill Module

On CD

The circle mill module automatically creates tool paths for machining a circle in stock. This is especially useful when using an endmill to produce a counterbore or a spotface.

Example 5-6:

Use a .75Dia Endmill to machine a 1.5Dia Counterbore .25 deep in the stock shown in Figure 5-2.

Cutting Tool Inserts
Cutting tool inserts are replaceable attachments for cutting tools. They typically contain the actual cutting edge.
Boring Tools
Boring tools are used to cut or finish the inner diameter of holes.
Milling Cutters
Milling cutters are rotating cutting tools that are used mainly in milling machines and machining centers. Common configurations include end mills, face mills, shell mills, and application-specific cutters and geometries.
Tool Posts
Tool posts are used to hold cutting tools. They allow for rapid tool changeover and provide a high degree of position repeatability and indexing.
Grinding Mills and Pulverizers
Grinding Mills and Pulverizers are machines that grind materials into fine powders, tiny shards, shapes, or granules on a continuous basis. Often, they are used to process items that are 2 inches (5 cm) in size
