In September 2002, a maintenance supervisor noticed that the compressed air system pressure was lower as compared to previous monthly readings. Considering our 24/7 mail processing operation and time constraints in troubleshooting the root causes, the supervisor dispatched a technician to switch-over to our alternate high HP compressor. This alternate 150 HP compressor, located in the penthouse, was serviced frequently in 2002-2003 for a variety of problems. To avoid additional service calls and problems with overall effectiveness of the compressed air system, the servicing contractor set the throttle valve regulator to meet the maximum demand, irrespective of the plant loading profile. When the technician switched-over to this compressor, we noticed the ampere-meter display rapidly fluctuating from 183 to 156 amps. We were concerned the rapid fluctuation of amperes might damage electrical components (contractors, relays, cables, motor, etc.). We needed an alternate method or device to detect and produce evidence if our concerns regarding damage to any electrical component were correct.
Products & Services
Aftercoolers are heat exchangers for cooling the discharge from a compressor.
Air compressor parts are used in air compressors and replaced due to wear and usage. This product area include air compressor motors, filters, pumps, valves, pressure regulators, breathers, and other accessories.
Compressed air filters are used to remove water, oil, oil vapor, dirt, and other contaminants from a compressed air supply.
Condensers are refrigeration devices that accept vaporized refrigerant from an evaporator and then compress and liquefy it for use in the system.
Specialty or proprietary products and accessories related to lamps and light sources.
