High Energy Density Capacitor Research for Pulsed Power Applications Presented at the 2009 IEEE Pulse Power Conference

General Atomics Energy products (GA-ESI) presented recent research results at the 29th IEEE Electrical Insulation Conference. The conference was held in June, 2008 in Quebec. GA-ESI's paper, titled High Energy Density Capacitors, presents the performance capabilities and characteristics of GA-ESI's newest and highest energy density film capacitor series, series CMX. CMX capacitors have achieved energy densities as high as 3J/cc with a significant pulse life, for pulsed power applications. These achievements are a result of continuous dielectric and processing R&D efforts, many enabled by military research grants, which have produced advancements in manufacturing techniques and film quality.
