ePTFE Membrane solves cartridge media blinding! This South Carolina ceramic plant had a shot blasting application in which their standard spun bond media cartridges would blind quickly upon startup. A set of cartridges would last only a week before needing replacement. Used cartridges were sent to the TDC lab for analysis and autopsy. Permeability testing showed the fabric blinded at 0.50 CFM and had no hope of recovery. Further evaluation by the TDC Engineering Department concluded with a recommendation of ePTFE membrane media. An order for ePTFE membrane cartridges was placed and delivered. After one week of "trouble-free" operation, the customer ordered another set to keep on hand. Now for over three years, the customer has kept in service, washed and rotated each set of TDC ePTFE membrane cartridges without failure or blinding. Product Announcements
