Crest Foods Chooses Sweco To Create World Class Facility

From Sweco

Crest Foods Company Incorporated, located 90 miles west of Chicago in Ashton, IL is an independent food manufacturing company established in 1946. Crest Foods has three business divisions: Contract Packaging, Dairy Ingredients, and Consumer Products. The Contract Manufacturing Division manufactures dry food products from blending and mixing to packaging in pouches, cartons, and glass or plastic jars. In 2002, Crest Foods Contract Packaging division had outgrown their current facilities and began rethinking their contract packaging business. Crest originally had eight mixing stations embedded in each packaging line. As the business grew, floor space in the packaging building became limited. Crest Foods needed to not only expand, but revolutionize their business to be the Quality Leader in the Market place. Crest Foods decided that the mixing operations should be removed from the individual packaging lines and moved to the ingredient warehouse. This frees up needed floor space and created the opportunity to create a world class mixing facility which would currently exceed any customer requirements and lead the marketplace.
