Handling Procedure: Lift the oil pan, weighing up to 180 lb., laying flange down, from a staging table approximately 36" high. The pan is pitched up approximately 65 degrees, with the top of the flange approximately 60" from the floor, and transferred 138" to the motor. Problem: The system capacity rating must be able to accommodate larger oil pans that may be manufactured at a future date. The radial reach and capacity requirements create significant moment loads. The manipulator arms must function within a 20" opening between 80" and 100" within the work cell because of unmovable objects, both from the ceiling and the floor. Requirements/ Restrictions: *?The manipulator must fit within a 20" opening between 80" and 100" from the floor. *?Prevent release unless the locating pins on the engine securely support the oil pan. *?440 lb. maximum payload capacity. *?Simple and quick interchangeable jaw interface is required to accommodate future oil pan designs. *?Nonstandard pitch angle.
