From B&B Electronics
The purpose of this current loop application note is to introduce the reader to the physical aspects of 20 mA current loop communications. Products & Services
Serial cable assemblies are used for the serial transmission of data. They support communication standards such as RS232, RS422, and RS485, as well as Fibre Channel, FireWire or IEEE 1394, USB 1.1, and USB 2.0.
Current loop converters convert an analog or digital signal to a current loop output such as 4-20 mA or 0-20 mA.
Fiber optic power meters are instruments that measure the average power of a continuous light beam. They are used to test signal power in fiber optic networks.
Vibration transmitters provide electrical outputs that are proportional to vibration inputs.
Serial data converters are used to interconnect two different serial standards, such as RS232 to RS422, USB to RS232, etc.
