From Canon USA Encoders/Optoelectronic Components Group
Galvano scanners are responsible for the high-speed, high-precision control of mirror angles, making them a critical component for patterning on high-density multi-layer substrates for mobile phone and other devices. Canon's galvano scanner, which combines the company's proprietary optical rotary encoder technologies and fully-closed digital servo technology, achieves a precision of 0.5 µ radians (a radian is a unit of angle; 1 µ radian = 0.000057 degrees) and positioning resolution of 0.1 µ radian, with a speed of 0.7 msec/step. The sensor realizes minimal drift due to temperature variations enabling expanded application in areas where reliability and environmental stability are critical. Product Announcements
