From Mitsubishi EDM/Laser
Zimmer, Inc. was founded in 1927 by Mr. Justin O. Zimmer after a former employer at a splint manufacturing company failed to share his innovation. The company has become a world leader in joint replacement solutions for knee and hip pain. Zimmer, Inc. provides comprehensive spine care solutions for acute and chronic back pain and a broad range of trauma, dental implant and orthopedic surgical products. Today, Zimmer has more than 3,200 employees serving 70 countries, and annual sales exceeding $1 billion. The company's mission is to develop and produce the highest quality orthopedic products to repair, replace and regenerate. After a three-year partnership, Zimmer acquired the privately-held Implex Corp., now known as Zimmer TMT (Trabecular Metal Technology). Zimmer TMT manufactures Trabecular Metal, a proprietary biomaterial used in implant surgeries. Trabecular Metal's porous cellular structure mirrors the physical and mechanical properties of bone. Its unique configuration is conducive to bone formation, allowing for 2-3 times more bone ingrowths than other conventional porous materials. Products & Services
EDM tooling, electrodes, fixtures, materials, guides and other supplies are used in electrical discharge machining (EDM), a highly-accurate manufacturing process for creating shapes within components and assemblies.
