From Mitsubishi EDM/Laser
For more than 25 years, Westfield Tool & Die, Inc. has supported the competitive New England manufacturing market with EDM work, precision tooling and prototyping. The small company supplies the automotive, electrical and aerospace industries, and provides outsourced EDM work to several large, local manufacturers. Westfield Tool & Die is also known for its expertise in progressive die building.
To combat the threat of overseas competition, company owner Fran Simmit turned to Mitsubishi to update the shop's equipment and increase its productivity. "We bought our first Mitsubishi ten years ago, and it's still running," he says. Since then, Westfield Tool & Die has been a loyal Mitsubishi customer.
Fran and his three partners (John Simmit, Jamie and Francis Janisieski) purchased a new Mitsubishi FA20S to take their company's productivity to the next level. Prior to the FA-S purchase, Westfield Tool & Die had steady incoming repeat business. Since its April purchase, John says, the machine's speed has allowed them to actually go out and recruit new business. "Because the machine requires very little manual operations and is so fast, our efficiency has reached an all time high," he explains.
