Reference Guide: Aluminum Frame Design Steps

When frame is used for support
Use information on page P.2136 to decide whether the support frame, has center or uniform load. When placing a plate on the frame, refer to the uniform load value in the table since the load is spread evenly. In the example from this table, the size of the frame is 1 sq m. When the frame size is larger, insert extra supports in the middle.

Determine the External Shape
Decide the width, depth and height of the frame, refer to page P.2123 for Misumi standard units.

Selection of the Connection Method
Brackets
Variety of brackets can be used when connecting extrusions. By adding tap alteration on the bracket, the cover plate panel can be installed.

Blind Joint
Appearance of connected extrusions is streamlined when blind joints are used. The strength of blind joint connection is the same as connection with bracket. Refer to P.2033~2042 for list of extrusions that can be used with blind joints. Blind joints are often used on door-units that are frequently pull in/out. Applicable nuts for aluminum frames are listed on P.2023~P.2030.
