The objective of the trip to SINTEF MARINTEK, Trondheim was to verify that the wave parameters estimated by the Recording Doppler Current Profiler RDCP 600 from pressure time series are reasonable and to collect raw data for use as test data in future wave software modification or development project. The tests were carried out on the 8th of October 2004.
The main conclusion is that the test was a success. The wave parameters produced by the RDCP 600 wave software was very close to the wave parameters produced by the wave recorder used as a reference. Raw data was also successfully recorded. Data collected by the RDCP 600 and the reference wave recorder can be found here.
