The key hardware is both a high performance near infrared camera and a liquid crystal tunable filter which acts as a wavelength discriminator. These two components together support capture of images that present the distribution of multiple chemical components in a sample. Spectral Dimensions ISys, its software for the analysis of chemical imaging data, can then analyze the collected images as hyperspectral data, and create both visualizations and quantitative analysis. During production, blend image data may be acquired for regulatory or archival purposes but the goal here is real-time monitoring and control.
