Numerical shifts execs to prepare for step up Numerical Technologies Inc. named Larry Hollatz, an experienced semiconductor industry executive, as its new chief executive officer, replacing founder Buno Pati, who becomes chairman. Pati said Hollatz was appointed to realize the company's "aggressive growth plan." Court denies Xircom's request to stay injunction 3Com Corp. said Thursday (Aug. 1) that a U.S. district court denied a motion filed by Intel Corp.'s Xircom unit to stay a preliminary injunction against the supplier of local-area networking and modem cards. As part of a patent infringement lawsuit, the court has prohibited Xircom from making, using, and selling its products in the United States. Additionally, 3Com has filed a new order, alleging that Xircom and Intel have violated the court's injunction by continuing to sell the enjoined products on its Web site.
