Bearing Type
   Bearing Type:
   Your choices are...
   Radial Ball Bearing
Conrad Bearing (Diagram)Courtesy of GlobalSpec, Inc.

Radial, or deep groove bearings, can take radial and axial loads to varying degrees but are used when the primary load is in the radial direction. They consist of an inner ring, an outer ring, balls, and sometimes a cage to contain and separate the balls.
   Angular Contact Ball Bearing
Angular Contact Bearing - no text (drawing)Courtesy of GlobalSpec, Inc.

Angular contact bearings are designed such that a contact angle between the races and the balls is formed when the bearing is in use. The major design characteristic of this type of bearing is that one or both of the ring races have one shoulder higher than the other. In order for these bearings to function properly, they must be assembled with a thrust load. This loading (or preload) creates a line of contact (or contact angle) between the inner race, the ball, and the outer race. The preload can be built in to the bearing or created when the bearing is inserted into an assembly. The contact angle varies from 15° to 40° and is measured relative to a line running perpendicular to the bearing axis. Angular contact bearings are one-directional thrust bearings that can withstand heavy thrust loads and moderate radial loads.
Mast Guide Bearing       Mast guide bearings are heavy-duty bearings designed for use in forklift applications.
   Thrust Bearing
Rolling Element Thrust Bearing (Drawing)Courtesy of GlobalSpec, Inc.

Thrust ball bearings are designed for pure thrust loads. These bearings can handle little or no radial loads. The rolling element can be a ball, needle, or roller.
Slewing Ring / Turntable Bearing       These bearings can accommodate axial, radial and moment loads. They are not mounted in housing or on a shaft, but instead are mounted directly to a seating surface. The inner and outer rings are supplied with mounting holes. The inner ring, outer ring, or both may have integral gears. These bearings are referred to as tabletop bearings, turntable bearings, and slewing rings.
Other       Unlisted, unspecified, or proprietary configuration.

Bore Size
Bore Size       The bearing industry uses a standard numbering system for bearings with metric-diameter bores. If the bore is hexagonal, enter the dimension across the flats. If the bore is tapered, enter the smaller diameter. For bore sizes 04 and up, multiply the bore size by 5 to identify the bore diameter in millimeters (mm). Refer to the table below.
Search Logic:      User may specify either, both, or neither of the "At Least" and "No More Than" values. Products returned as matches will meet all specified criteria.

Outside Diameter
Outside Diameter       Enter the outside diameter of the bearing. For housed bearings, include the housing. For flanged bearings, exclude the flange.
Search Logic:      User may specify either, both, or neither of the "At Least" and "No More Than" values. Products returned as matches will meet all specified criteria.

   Special Material / Plating Options
   Your choices are...
Stainless Steel       Stainless steel is chemical and corrosion resistant and can have relatively high pressure ratings.
Plastic       Any of numerous organic, synthetic, or processed materials that are mostly thermoplastic or thermosetting polymers of high molecular weight and that can be made into objects, films, or filaments.
Ceramic Balls       A ceramic hybrid bearing is constructed of steel inner and outer rings with ceramic (typically Si3N4 balls in place of steel. These bearings have several advantages over all steel bearings, such as higher speed and acceleration capability, increased stiffness, higher accuracy, lower friction and heat generation, reduced lubrication requirements, low thermal expansion, extended operating life. Bearings containing all ceramic balls are also nonconductive and are commonly used in electric motor applications.
Ceramic Races       Bearing races are constructed of ceramic (typically Si3N4).
Plated       Bearing is plated; common plating materials are cadmium and chrome.
Search Logic:      All products with ANY of the selected attributes will be returned as matches. Leaving all boxes unchecked will not limit the search criteria for this question; products with all attribute options will be returned as matches.
   Special Application
   Your choices are...
Airframe / Aircraft Control       Aircraft control and airframe bearings are especially designed to meet the demands of aerospace applications. They can be of ball, roller, or needle roller construction. Most aircraft control and airframe bearings are manufactured to U.S. government military (MIL-SPEC) standards.
Aerospace       Bearings designed for aerospace applications such as jet engines and helicopters.
Agriculture       Bearings designed for agriculture equipment and environments.
Automotive       Bearings designed for the automotive industry.
Ball Screw Support       These bearings are specifically designed for use in ball screw or lead screw applications. Most ball screw support bearings are angular contact bearings with a steep contact angle, such as 60°, and are available in duplex, triplex and quadruplex configurations. Other designs include bearings containing separate thrust and radial roller bearings in a single assembly.  Cartridge designs are also available that include a housing, seals, and bearings.
Instrument / Miniature       Instrument and miniature bearings are small deep groove or angular contact bearings. They are used in applications requiring very small bearings, such as dental drills and computer disk drives.
Medical /Dental       Bearings specially designed for medical or dental equipment.
Military       Bearing manufactured in accordance with the U.S. government standards, as dictated by the appropriate military specifications.
Pump       These bearings are designed for the conditions found in pumps, including high loads, poor or degraded lubrication, and high operating temperatures.
Spindle / Super Precision       These are high precision bearings intended for use in machine tool spindles.
Sporting and Consumer Goods       Bearings designed for the sporting and consumer goods market.  Products in the sector include inline skates, skateboards, and fishing reels.
   Other       Other, unlisted application.
Search Logic:      All products with ANY of the selected attributes will be returned as matches. Leaving all boxes unchecked will not limit the search criteria for this question; products with all attribute options will be returned as matches.
