Features
   Protection Features
   Your choices are...
Circuit Breaker       Protective device for overvoltage; circuit breakers trip at overload and may be reset.
Fuse       Fuses are safety devices that are activated in the event of extended overvoltage; they take the device power off line.  Fuses include replacement types and resettable fuses, often thermal sensing.
Thermal Sensor       Sensor that detects high thermal conditions, indicating current overload or other non-design condition.  This may open a fuse or circuit breaker, send an alarm signal, etc.
EMI / RFI Protection       Device has filtering and protection to guard against adverse impacts of radio frequency interference (RFI) and electromagnetic interference (EMI).
Transient Voltage Surge Suppression       Unit features clamping or other suppression of transient voltage spikes or other irregularities.

CE       International commission on rules for the approval of electrical equipment.
CB       The CB certification scheme was initiated in the 1960s and indicates conformity to safety and electrical standards established by the IEC.  It is widely recognized in many countries, including the United States, the European Union, Japan, and Australia.
   CSA       Canadian Standards Association.
cUL       This Mark is applied to products for the Canadian market. Products with this type of mark have been evaluated to Canadian safety requirements.
UL       Underwriter's Laboratory certified or registered.
TUV       TÜV Rheinland/Berlin-Brandenburg provides International Approvals Services as they relate to product safety. Products certified by TÜV Rheinland for the US market are identified by the TUVus certification mark. TÜV Rheinland of North America is also established as a Certification Organization in Canada. When the TUVus mark is coupled with the cTUV mark, the product is certified compliant for both the US and Canadian markets.
VDE       The VDE Mark indicates conformity with the VDE standards, or European or internationally harmonized standards, and confirms compliance with protective requirements of the applicable EC Directive(s). The VDE Mark is a symbol for electrical, mechanical, thermal, toxic, radiological and other hazards.
Other       There are numerous other quality ratings, certifications and marks; this choice covers all those not listed explicitly above.
