| AC Motor | Supplier has the capabilities to repair alternating current (AC) motors. AC motors are a broad category of motors that include single / multiphase, universal, servo, induction, synchronous, and gearmotor types. The magnetic field generated by AC motors is produced by an electromagnet powered by the same AC voltage as the motor coil. | ||
| DC Motor | Supplier has the capabilities to repair direct current (DC) motors. DC motors are configured in many types and sizes, including brushless, servo, and gearmotor types. A motor consists of a rotor and a permanent magnetic field stator. The magnetic field is maintained using either permanent magnets or electromagnetic windings. DC motors are most commonly used in variable speed and torque applications. | ||
| AC Servomotor | Alternating current (AC) servomotors are typically permanent magnet, synchronous motors that often have high torque-to-inertia ratios for high acceleration ratings. AC servomotors have an output shaft that can be positioned by sending a coded signal to the motor. As the input to the motor changes, the angular position of the output shaft changes as well. AC servomotors are generally small but powerful for their size and easy to control. Induction and gearmotor types are some common forms of AC servomotors. | ||
| DC Servomotor | Direct current (DC) servomotors have an output shaft that can be positioned by sending a coded signal to the motor. As the input to the motor changes, the angular position of the output shaft changes as well. Servomotors are generally small and powerful for their size, and easy to control. Common types of DC servomotors include brushless or gearmotor types. | ||
| Brushless Motor | Brushless motors are synchronous electric motors that have a magnetically (AC induction) or electronically (DC) controlled commutation system instead of a brush-based mechanical commutation system. Brushed motors are used in many applications, but have an important disadvantage in that the brushes wear out. Brushed motors also limit the speed of the motor, and the sparking from making and breaking connections creates electrical noise. In addition, the position of the electromagnet on the armature makes the motor difficult to cool. Brushless motors overcome these limitations because there are no brushes to wear out and there is no sparking. The electromagnets on the stator are also easier to cool. Brushless motors are more efficient, but also more expensive | ||
| Gearmotor | Gearmotors of all types and sizes include single / multiphase, universal, servo, induction and synchronous types. An AC gearmotor consists of a series of three windings in the stator section with a simple rotating section and an integral gearbox or gearhead. The changing field caused by 50 or 60 Hertz AC line voltage causes the rotor to rotate about the axis of the motor. AC motors are the most common and simple type of motor manufactured. DC gearmotors are configured in many types and sizes, including brushless and servo. A DC gearmotor consists of a rotor, a permanent magnetic field stator, and an integral gearbox or gearhead | ||
| Linear Motor | Linear motors generate force only in the direction of travel. A linear motor applies thrust directly to a load, and does not require any intermediate mechanism to convert rotary motion into linear motion. Linear motors are capable of extremely high speeds, quick acceleration, and accurate positioning. | ||
| Spindle Motor | Spindle motors are precision motors specifically designed for low noise and vibration required for spindle applications. | ||
| Stepper Motor | Stepper motors use a magnetic field to move a rotor. Stepping can be done in full step, half step, or other fractional step increments. Voltage is applied to poles around the rotor and changes the polarity of each pole. The resulting magnetic interaction between the poles and the rotor causes the rotor to move. Stepper motors provide precise positioning and ease of use, especially in low acceleration or static load applications. | ||
