Help with Thermal Oxidizers and Catalytic Oxidizers specifications:
Oxidizer Type

|
| ||
| Your choices are... | |||
| Catalytic | An off-gas post-treatment unit for control of organic compounds. Gas enters the unit and passes over a support material coated with a catalyst (commonly a noble metal such as platinum or rhodium) that promotes oxidation of the organics. Catalytic oxidizers can convert volatile organic compounds (VOC) to carbon dioxide and water at much lower temperatures than thermal oxidizers by using a catalyst inside the combustion chamber. | ||
| Direct Flame | May also be called afterburners. Afterburners employ no heat recovery equipment. | ||
| Recuperative Thermal | An oxidation technology (thermal or catalytic) that uses a plate, shell, and tube, or other conventional type of heat exchanger to heat incoming air with air from the oxidation process. Recuperative systems can often recover 50 to 75% of the heat generated by oxidation. | ||
| Regenerative Thermal | An oxidation technology that uses two or more ceramic heat transfer beds that act as smaller heat exchangers and a retention chamber where the organics are oxidized. It can often recover 90 to 95% of the heat generated by oxidation. | ||
| Rotor Concentrator | An oxidation technology add-on that reduces air volume and increases VOC concentration. The process stream flows through a continuously rotating wheel impregnated with adsorbent. Here the VOCs are adsorbed and the clean air is exhausted into the atmosphere. The wheel is then regenerated by passing through a stream of warm, low volume desorption gas that produces a concentrated stream that can be more efficiently destroyed by an oxidizer. | ||
| Other | Other unlisted, specialized, or proprietary technology type. | ||

Destruction Efficiency / Capability
Back to Top
|
|
| ||
| Destruction Efficiency / Capability | The efficiency of the oxidizer in destroying VOCs. | ||
| Your choices are... | |||
| 99% | The oxidizer can destroy greater than 99% of the VOCs. | ||
| 98% | The oxidizer can destroy between 98 and 99% of the VOCs. | ||
| 97% | The oxidizer can destroy between 97 and 98% of the VOCs. | ||
| 95% | The oxidizer can destroy 95% of the VOCs. | ||
| 90% | The oxidizer can destroy 90% of the VOCs. | ||
| < 10mg/Nm3 | The oxidizer can destroy < 10mg/Nm3 of VOCs. | ||
| < 20mg/Nm3 | The oxidizer can destroy < 20mg/Nm3 of VOCs. | ||
| < 50mg/Nm3 | The oxidizer can destroy < 50mg/Nm3 of VOCs. | ||
| Odor | The oxidizer can destroy odors. | ||
| Opacity | The oxidizer can destroy opacity. | ||
| Other | Other unlisted, specialized, or proprietary destruction efficiency or capability. | ||
| Search Logic: | Products with the selected attribute will be returned as matches. Leaving or selecting "No Preference" will not limit the search criteria for this question; products with all attribute options will be returned as matches. | ||

|
| ||
| Required Airflow: | The airflow from the process that the oxidizer can accommodate. | ||
| Search Logic: | User may specify either, both, or neither of the "At Least" and "No More Than" values. Products returned as matches will meet all specified criteria. | ||
| Temperature Range: | The temperature range of the oxidizer will determine the solvent load that may be oxidized. Typical temperature ranges are 400 to 600 °F for catalytic oxidizers and 1000 to 1800 °F for thermal oxidizers. | ||
