Plansee SE has promoted these products/services:

Plansee SE - Back-cast TZM Electrodes Last Ten Times Longer.

A manufacturer of switchgears tested our back cast electrodes for resistance welding. The result: Due to the seamless joint with the electrode holder, back cast electrodes have a substantially longer service life than their soldered alternative. (read more)

Plansee SE - Metallic furnace hot zone

With our new hot zone we have reduced power consumption by up to a quarter without any compromise on performance. We achieved this by adding more molybdenum layers in the heat shielding, optimizing its design and reducing the weight of the hot-zone. This is made possible by innovative manufacturing techniques and our advanced molybdenum alloys. For maximum performance and minimum... (read more)

Plansee SE - Molybdenum glass melting electrodes

high corrosion-resistance and high melting point: the ideal candidate for use in the glass melt tank. (read more)

Plansee SE - DENSIMET® tungsten Heavy Metal Alloys

Plansee Express will provide even more density with the addition of: DENSIMET® D176, D185ND and D2M. In the leading online shop for semi-finished high-melting metals, tungsten heavy alloys are now also available. (read more)

Plansee SE - New top quality tungsten-nickel sputtering targets

Plansee supplies tungsten-nickel sputtering targets for manufacturing the electrochromic layers in smart windows. While other tungsten-nickel targets are manufactured by thermal spraying, targets from Plansee are made by sintering and deforming. You benefit from uniform sputtering parameters and a longer use of the sputtering target. (read more)

Plansee SE - Companies can now try WL15 electrodes for free.

The gold-colored WL15 TIG welding electrode is thorium-free and ignites faster than the red thoriated WT20 electrode. Perform the test for free and request your three WL15 TIG electrodes. (read more)

Plansee SE - New paper on the oxygen content of CuGa thin films

The residual gases in the vacuum equipment during the sputtering process determines the oxygen content of copper-gallium precursor layers much more than the target material. This result of a research project undertaken by our coating experts is important for the manufacture of CIGS thin-film solar cells. The detailed results were presented as a poster contribution at this year's E... (read more)

Plansee SE - Plansee opens production location in China

Plansee High Performance Materials has had its own sales organization in China for more than 20 years. As the importance of this market has grown, the next logical step was for Plansee to set up their own production location, which has just opened near Shanghai. (read more)

Plansee SE - DENSIMET® inserts for aluminum die casting.

Inserts made from the tungsten alloy Densimet® not only guarantees a top quality of aluminum cast parts. It also ensures a longer service life. Thanks to the low level of thermal expansion, there is no chance of heat checking cracks in the mold insert. (read more)

Plansee SE - Tungsten-copper plasma spray nozzles.

The Institute for Physical Metallurgy and Materials Testing at the University of Leoben confirms: In comparison to electrodes containing thorium, tungsten-lanthanum electrodes excel through their excellent ignition properties, improved deposition efficiency and reduced wear. (read more)

Plansee SE - New Ion Source Offers 30% Longer Lifetime

PLANSEE’s Advanced Standard designs are made from high-performance metals, graphite, and ceramics and are available for most commercial ion implantation tools worldwide. PLANSEE’s most recent development is an extended life ion source for the Exceed IHC 9600 implantation system from Nissin. (read more)

Plansee SE - Comparing Cast and Soldered Electrodes

Electrodes made from tungsten-lanthanum or TZM with a copper shaft are suitable for withstanding the high stresses involved in resistance spot welding. But cavities in the solder between the electrode and the shaft have a negative impact on the quality of the weld. Tests show that anyone wishing to avoid cavities should use cast electrodes rather than soldered electrodes. (read more)

Plansee SE - Ultra-pure sputtering targets for UHD screens

Transistors in ultra-high definition displays (UHD) possess particularly fine structures. Only extremely pure sputtering targets are suitable for use as the input materials for the fine conductor paths. "UHD-ready" will be the motto when Plansee present their ultra-pure coating materials at Touch Taiwan. (read more)

Plansee SE - Advanced Standard Components for Ion Implanters

PLANSEE High Performance Materials is an expert in the field of molybdenum, tungsten, tantalum, niobium and chromium components. (read more)

Plansee SE - Material tuning for ion implantation

How the properties of graphite and refractory metals improve system reliability and the lifetime of ion source and beamline replacement components. (read more)

Plansee SE - Alloyed metals for top performance

Purity and material properties are also top priorities for tungsten and molybdenum components in the ion implanter. If the source of the material changes frequently, it is probable that the qualities of the material used will also fluctuate and result in process instabilities, unpredictable downtime, or uneven component usage. (read more)

Plansee SE - Tungsten Balancing Weights

Balancing weights made from our tungsten heavy metal composites DENSIMET® and INERMET® compensate for oscillations, weight transfers, imbalances and vibrations, create or shift centers of gravity and more generally ensure the optimum balance. (read more)

Plansee SE - Tungsten Copper Electrical Contacts

Tungsten copper (WCu) is used for arcing contacts in SF6 circuit breakers for ultra high, high and medium voltage applications. At the heart of the switching chamber, WCu contacts are exposed to extreme mechanical and thermal loads... (read more)

Plansee SE - Formed Molybdenum and Tungsten Crucibles

Formed molybdenum and tungsten crucibles excel in the so-called HEM process (Heat Exchanger Method). They are the perfect vessels for melting and solidifying the single crystal. PLANSEE's formed crucibles have particularly thin walls combined with excellent creep resistance. (read more)

Plansee SE - Molybdenum Sputtering Targets

Molybdenum coatings are the crucial components of the thin-film transistors used in TFT-LCD screens. These provide instantaneous control of the individual image dots (pixels) and consequently ensure particularly sharp image quality. (read more)
