The Sensor Fusion is Aerotech's data acquisition device, and in this video, we'll show you how it can be used for surface profiling and inspection applications. A PC is running the control software for a surface profiling system, and both are connected to a desktop version of the Sensor Fusion. We use an encoder input card to collect the encoder signal from the X and Y axes, and an analog input card, which will collect input from the two laser displacement sensors on our system. With the Sensor Fusion, you can use any combination of different sensors with analog and digital outputs.

The IFOV controller feature allows seamless synchronization of galvanometer and servo motion. Long vector moves that would otherwise exceed scanner field of view are enabled by combining servo/scanner motion.
Fast motion with sharp direction reversals is accomplished with high dynamic scanner motion.
Large features (or large combinations of smaller features) may be marked continuously by interleaving scanner and linear motor stage moves.
Direct access to encoder feedback allows real-time laser triggering based on combined AGV (galvo) and stage positions.

With straightness performance to +/- 0.4 microns and flatness to +/- 1 micron, images taken of profiled surfaces show amazing detail of critical texture and features. Sensor Fusion Data Acquisition Solution
The Sensor Fusion™ is a 3U data acquisition device that accepts up to four different SF Cards. This device is integrated with the A3200 motion controller to provide precise time alignment of motion and data acquisition functions. Data collection is synchronized across all cards in the Sensor Fusion so there is never a need to align data after collection. Data collection, configuration and analysis are done using the A3200's extensive set of software tools.
