Tufram® coatings for aluminum far outperform conventional hard anodizing and similar processes when it comes to corrosion resistance, friction reduction and hardness.
Tufram coatings are highly resistant to corrosion as well as acids and alkaline chemicals. In salt spray testing, for example, Tufram on high strength aluminum exceeds the AMS 2482 requirement of 336 hours. Submersion tests in strong acids at 248ºF show no effect after more than 170 hours.
Tufram's low coefficient of friction protects against a wide variety of abrasive wear mechanisms and galling. It also reduces stick-slip behavior and the resulting vibrations in sliding motion applications.
Tufram dramatically improves the surface hardness of aluminum-to levels comparable with case hardened steel or hard chrome plate.
Tufram's properties surpass those of all conventional aluminum coatings-including hard anodize, polymer impregnated hard anodize, hardcoat anodize and sulfuric anodize.

Nedox exceeds the physical properties of common industry coatings such as nickel plating, electroless nickel plating, sulfamate nickel, co-dep electroless nickel and polymer impregnated electroless nickel.
Nedox is well-known for its ability to eliminate stick-slip and galling in a wide variety of applications. It also performs well in chemically corrosive environments-including washdown and uranium-enrichment applications with UF6 exposure. Nedox is also highly resistant to salt spray.
Plasmadize® is an enhanced thermal spray composite coating that protects and restores metal parts and has increased lubricity and better mold release than conventional spray methods. An infused matrix of metals, ceramics, polymers and dry lubricants create a structural integrity and non-porous, moisture-proof surface.
Resistance in salt spray testing can range from 300 to 4,000 hours depending on which polymer and substrate is used. The appropriate selection of infused polymer or another surface polymer provides a highly lubricious non-stick surface with a coefficient of friction as low as 0.13 on an 8 RMS surface.
Plasmadize provides superior properties compared to common coatings such as thermal spray, plasma spray, HVOF, metalizing, twin arc, wire arc and thermal powder deposition.
