The new standard UNE-EN ISO 14644-18:2024 gives guidance for assessing personal and non-personal consumables for their appropriate use in cleanrooms, based on product and process requirements, cleanliness attributes and functional performance properties.
This document is written for suppliers (manufacturers of consumables or distributors) and customers (as users of consumables) to assess the cleanroom suitability of consumables described in UNE-EN ISO 14644-5.
As a support standard, it references the following standards:
- UNE-EN ISO 14644-1. Clean rooms and associated controlled environments. Part 1: Classification of air cleanliness by particle concentration.
- UNE-EN ISO 14644-8. Clean rooms and associated controlled environments. Part 8: Assessment of air cleanliness by chemical concentration.
- UNE-EN ISO 14644-9. Clean rooms and associated controlled environments. Part 9: Classification of air cleanliness by particle concentration.
- UNE-EN ISO 14644-10. Clean rooms and associated controlled environments. Parte 10: Assessment of surface cleanliness for chemical contamination.
It also contains four informative Appendices that help to achieve the standard and deal with: personal and non-personal consumables, impact of consumables on cleanroom cleanliness levels, testing methods and practical examples.
