Three Quality Levels in Welded Fabrication
Featured Product from AENOR
Applies to all types of steel, nickel, titanium and their alloys.
The UNE-EN ISO 5817:2023 standard specifies the quality levels of imperfections in fusion-welded joints in all types of steels, nickel, titanium and their alloys.
Three quality levels are given (B, C and D) in order to permit application to a wide range of welded fabrication. The quality levels refer to production and good workmanship; specifically, level B corresponds to the highest requirement for finished welds.
Applicable to material thicknesses ≥ 0.5 mm. Covers butt welds with full penetration and all angle welds. Its principles can also be applied to butt welds with partial penetration.
Different types of loads are considered: static, thermal, corrosion, under pressure, etc. Annex B provides additional guidelines on fatigue loads.
This document pertains to manual, mechanized and automatic welding, all welding positions, all welding types and to the welding processes and subprocesses defined in UNE-EN ISO 4063:2023.
