The AK2 ClearClock™ series is designed with a third overtone crystal architecture. The dynamic design allows engineers to address both space-constrained and high-data rate system design requirements in networking applications such as PCI Express (PCIe) and optical transceivers. In addition, the third overtone design inherently avoids phase locked loop (PLL) based multiplication to reduce overall power consumption far below other jitter-optimized oscillators available in miniature form factors.

The AK2 series is condensed to the industry standard, 2.5 x 2.0 mm, package size and still meets the low-noise needs of an industry insatiable appetite for more bandwidth and higher data rates. 

The AK2 devices have a superior RMS phase jitter performance of < 110 fs typical (@ 156.25MHz, LVDS, Vdd=2.5V). The family is available in frequencies up to 200MHz and supports the LVDS, HCSL, & LVPECL differential output logic types. Standard options support ±25ppm max and ±30 ppm max. stability over 20°C to +70°C and -40°C to +85°C temperature ranges, respectively.
