How Can Dehumidification Improve Quality Control
Imagine you’re on target for your most successful year yet and then BAMM, the temperature outside soars and humidity levels go through the roof.

Depending on the equipment you use, this might mean blockages that stop fuel flowing as normal, or a complete plant shutdown if you have a product that needs stable temperatures and low humidity levels.

What would happen if your site grounds to a halt because it was a little too sticky outside?

It’s easy to overlook the threat that humidity has on your plant because it seems like such a minor thing but, in fact, it can have major consequences on your output and revenue.

Temporary Dehumidifiers to the Rescue
For one plant, high humidity levels meant they almost had to stop processes entirely because their affected equipment kept getting “fail” stamps.

Otherwise fully-working units had to be destroyed because of this - which cost the plant hundreds of thousands of dollars every single month.

Imagine if this was your plant; imagine if each month you had to get rid of high-performing equipment simply because a few drops of moisture had affected part of it? What would that mean for business?

It’s a pretty grim outlook.

The solution was to bring in a heavy duty dehumidifier to save the day. This, combined with air handlers and a low-temperature chiller, meant the plant was able to keep humidity levels low.

As a result, the plant could really ramp up production rates without compromising the quality of their output.

Keep Products Safe With Dehumidification
Moisture not only affects plant equipment, but it can also have an impact on your products.

Take one plant, for example, that produced medical monofilament - a vital medical product that needs stable temperatures and low humidity levels. Any change in moisture levels could shut the plant down at a moment’s notice.

In the blink of an eye, the whole production line could have come screeching to a halt, causing a devastating drop in revenue.

The solution was to install dehumidifiers that were specifically set to maintain consistent humidity levels in the plant. As a result, the plant could continue the production process around the clock knowing that their output of vital medical monofilament was safe.

Dehumidification can be accomplished using desiccant dehumidifiers, refrigerant dehumidifiers or a combination of the two depending on the situation.

Dehumidification might not be high up on your list, but remember: making sure your plant is running with optimum moisture levels can help you avoid any major headaches and unnecessary costs in the future.
