By combining scraped surface agitation with a reversible high shear rotor stator mixer homogenizer, high quality fine grain emulsions and dispersions can be made in the shortest time.

The Model MXM 150 AP uses three separate mixers in a 150 liter batch size. The 3 HP reversible, axial flow high shear rotor stator mixer can exert shear rates in the 30,000 reciprocal seconds range that can produce single micron emulsions and dispersions. An open anchor style scraped surface agitator rotates the batch while removing viscous product from heat transfer surfaces. This is especially important for the key cooling step in the preparation of creams and lotions. Finally, an auxiliary axial flow turbine mixer provides optimal flow without shear during shear sensitive process steps. The process vessel is completely sheathed and insulated for operator safety. The entire mixing system can be lifted straight out of the process vessel for inspection, cleaning and alteration using dual compact electric powered linear actuators. No dangerous, high pressure, leak prone cylinders are required. Supplied as a turn key with a control panel that varies the speed and direction of all three mixers and measures temperature and controls agitation system lift.
