Applications include automotive, biomedical, astronomy, military, homeland security, aviation, spacecraft, imaging, telecommunications, scientific research, and industrial R&D. Our 144,000 sq. ft. state of the art facility is located in Santa Rosa, California. With lean manufacturing standards, talented engineers and a dedicated staff, we meet the diverse needs of customers who require cost-effective thin film coating solutions.
Our mission at DSI is simple – to enable our customers to successfully complete projects and expand their own businesses by providing them with cost effective optical thin film coating solutions. We have delivered on this promise since our founding in 1986 by applying traditional deposition methods, such as conventional evaporation, as well as by developing and perfecting innovative coating techniques. The latter includes our patented MicroDyn® reactive sputtering technology, and a unique form of low pressure chemical vapor deposition (LPCVD) called IsoDyn®.
We work closely with our customers to determine which coating technology is best suited for the intended application, considering all aspects, including optical performance, environmental factors, and cost. Indeed, we look at our customers as partners, and welcome strategic relationships that embrace all facets of our businesses – from R&D to marketing.
