Hammond’s popular RMU series of rackmount instrument enclosures has expanded to include 5U (8.75”) tall versions. These universally utile enclosures have a strong aluminum construction with sand-textured black powder coat finish. 1U, 2U, and 3U versions are available in full 19” rackmount width as well as 8” half-width for desktop applications. All heights from 1U to 5U are available in depths up to 28”, and optional rear support brackets can be used with sizes 18” deep and up. All sizes can be purchased with solid or vented top and bottom panels.

RMU housings are ideal for equipment requiring knobs, readouts, and buttons, and provide ample space in the rear for multiple connectors and wires. Whether this equipment needs to be mounted inside a rack assembly or used on a tabletop, the RMU series offers the sizes and options required for your application.

Each assembly ships in knockdown configuration for safer transit and includes interchangeable front and rear panels, interchangeable side panels, interchangeable top and bottom panels, adhesive rubber feet, assembly hardware, and front rack mounting flanges (19” versions only).
