Inductotherm's Galvanizing Pots
Featured Product from Inductotherm Group
This is very important with channel-type coating pots in order to minimize the wear or clogging of the “channel” during operation.
Pre-Melt Pots:
A major advantage of using pre-melt pots is that much of the dross created during the melting of ingots is isolated away from the coating process. Moreover, as the ingots are not fed into the main pot, its temperature variations can be kept to a minimum, which leads to a better-quality product and less dross accumulation in the coating pot.
Premelts pots are frequently used when processing galvanneal and Galvalume® coatings.
Launders:
Launders are used to transport molten metal at the proper temperature from a pre-melt pot to the main coating pot by gravity flow. The launder is specially designed to minimize oxidation of the alloy. The equipment consists of a refractory-lined steel shell and insulated cover assembly. It is heated by a gas burner system mounted in the side of the launder. Temperature is controlled by a thermocouple controller. A launder metal level circuit is also tied into the main control system.
