Developed as an alternative to the traditional wire-wound sensors, the PW-sensor from IST AG is the only chip in the market that combines high accuracy and precision with the advantages of the thin-film sensors, that offer vibration stability and very low hysteresis, while at the same time comes at a more attractive price.
Compared to a standard wire-wound sensor measuring between -100°C to +450°C based on IEC 60751 W 0.15 (typically also called class A), the IST AG PW sensor measures within the same class A from negative -200 °C to +600°C.
Due to the special construction and stable characteristics curve, the IST AG PW sensor is in high demand, especially for low temperature applications like Ultra-low temperature freezers (-80°C) designed for storage of vaccines, reagents, or other biological materials where high reliability through a precise temperature control is a key. As an additional feature, the PW sensor is available in round ceramic housings with the similar dimensions as the traditional wire-wound sensor, providing a seamless integration into existing temperature applications.
