Monitoring System Measures Transient Pressures
Product Announcement from Mueller Company
With the addition of transient-state pressure monitoring, administrative and technician level operators of the Hydro-Guard Pressure Monitoring System can now schedule individual devices to monitor transient-state pressures for frequencies of one minute or less for up to 23 hours daily. When scheduled to run in the transient-state monitoring mode, the device will take readings 256 times per second. At the conclusion of the scheduled transient-state monitoring period, the device will revert back to the steady-state monitoring mode (one reading every 15 seconds). Knowing both the steady and transient state of pressure at points within a utility's water distribution line is critical to predicting and preventing leaks and other distribution line failures. This proactive approach can save a utility money and time.
