Description: The BW-BCP Thermal Protector ensures reliable thermal protection with automatic reset functionality and plastic shell insulation. Designed for power classes up to 6A, this normally closed thermal protector features a robust construction ideal for various applications.

Main Parts:

  1. Shell
  2. Iron Bracket
  3. Bimetal Disc
  4. Movable Contact
  5. Base
  6. Stationary Silver Contact

Construction:

  • Movable Contact: Welded to the bimetal disc and then to the iron bracket.
  • Stationary Silver Contact & Base: Molded as a single unit and riveted to the iron bracket.
  • Current Path: Passes through the movable contact on the bimetal disc from the iron bracket, then through the stationary silver contact to form a complete circuit.

Function:

  • Normal Operation: The contacts remain closed under the pre-pressure of the bimetal disc.
  • Over Temperature: At the rated temperature, the bimetal disc deforms and quickly opens the circuit.
  • Reset: As the device cools to the reset temperature, the bimetal disc returns to its original position, closing the contacts and restoring circuit operation.
