Construction The ST01 A U2 features a stationary silver contact riveted to a ceramic cover plate and a movable contact welded to a cross-shaped spring disc. The bimetal disc, positioned on the spring disc, allows current to pass through the contacts and the conductive housing, forming a complete circuit. This robust construction ensures durability and reliable performance.

Function

• Normal Operation: The movable contact remains in close contact with the stationary silver contact under the spring disc's pre-pressure, allowing current to flow.
• Overheat Protection: When the rated temperature is reached, the bimetal disc deforms, snapping to its inverted position and pushing the spring disc downwards to open the contact and disrupt the current flow.
• Automatic Reset: As the ambient temperature drops, the bimetal disc and spring disc return to their original positions, closing the contact and restoring the circuit.
