Construction:

• Stationary Silver Contact: Welded to the base.
• Movable Contact: Welded to one end of the bimetal disc, the other end is welded to the housing with iron nails.
• Insulating Paper: Provides isolation between the base and housing.
• Current Path: Passes through the movable contact and bimetal disc to the stationary silver contact, forming a complete loop.

Function:

• Normal Operation: The contacts are closed, allowing current flow.
• Over Temperature: At the rated temperature, the bimetal disc deforms and rapidly opens the circuit.
• Reset: As the device cools to the reset temperature, the bimetal disc snaps back, closing the contacts and restoring circuit operation.
