Engine oil analysis is a reliable and mature non-destructive testing (NDT) technique used to monitor the condition of the engine in development, on the production line and for in-service maintenance. High performance reciprocating engines and jet turbines are complicated mechanical systems with many high speed moving parts.

With five simple tests, the MiniLab EL delivers comprehensive on-site oil analysis, providing immediate actionable results, saving time and reducing costs. Highlights of this system include:

  • One product, delivering lab-quality analysis outside of the lab
  • Simplified workflow for the non-expert user, no chemist required
    1. Chemical Analysis: Complies with ASTM D7889, using just 60 microliters of oil with no sample preparation required. The test is quick, taking only 1 minute, and involves no solvents or chemicals.

    2. Viscosity Measurement: Follows ASTM D8092 (New), using 60 microliters of oil without sample preparation. The viscosity test duration ranges from 2 seconds to 6 minutes, depending on the sample. The test is temperature-controlled at 40°C and requires no solvents or chemicals.

    3. Elemental Analysis: Adheres to ASTM D6595, requiring 2 milliliters of oil without any sample preparation. The test time is 90 seconds, with no solvents or chemicals needed.

    4. Fuel Dilution: Conducted in line with ASTM D8004, using 0.5 milliliters of sample without any preparation. The test is quick, taking only 1 minute, and does not involve any solvents or chemicals.

    5. Total Ferrous Content: Conforms to ASTM D8120, requiring a 2 milliliter sample with no preparation needed. The test time is just 30 seconds, and no solvents or chemicals are used.Simplified data handling and report interpretation
