Taking advantage of the photo-sensitive nature of silicon, VMI offers a 20kV version to its existing line of high voltage, high-reliability opto-diodes.
With visible silicon and a clear plastic package, infrared light can be used to manipulate the opto-diode reverse leakage characteristics to dynamically control the current and voltage using low voltage solid state circuitry. Multiple opto-diodes can be used in series for higher voltages and opto-diodes can be used in parallel for higher current, high-voltage applications.
There are multiple applications in Mass Spectrometry, Military, Aerospace, Pockel Cell, HV discharge, and sensing applications that use the opto-diode as a HV linear regulator, HV variable load, or HV Op-Amp.
Our new OZ200SG 20kV device features operation up to 20kV for a single HV diode stack. The 20kV version is in the same small package of clear plastic, ready for use with any infrared source. Like all VMI opto-diodes, the OZ200SG features fully metallurgically bonded silicon, reflecting the quality and reliability synonymous with VMI’s well-earned reputation.
