A new series of magnetic clutches & couplings from Sterling Instrument (an ISO 9001 manufacturer) features no friction or wearing parts, uses no electricity and no magnetic particles to leak. These units, identified as the S90MCC-MTL Series, are stocked in 7 different bore sizes: .250”, .375”, .500”, .625”, 750” .875” and 1.000”. Unit lengths range from 1.65” to 3.11”. Their torque range is from .06 lb. in. up to 25 lb. in. They weigh from .73 lb. to 8.95 lb.
Other features include being incredibly accurate, repeatable torque control, easy to adjust, easy to apply, perfect for continuous slip, zero “stick slip”, smooth with no friction. Applications include: material handling such as for conveyor belts, film transport, capping of syringes or bottles, shrink wrapping, constant wire tension coil winding, film tensioning and torque limiting.
