General Industries

General Industries has been a leader in steel storage tank manufacturing since 1954.  Located in Goldsboro, NC, General Industries supplies storage tanks across the country and internationally. They utilize over fifty years of experience with their inside sales staff, and a combined 60 years experience between their northern and southern sales representatives.  General Industries’ annual sales range from seven to ten million per year. The General Industries engineering department employs the latest AutoCAD technology, and produces detailed drawings and specifications for each project. Their fabrication facility consists of over 70,000 square foot.  Trained and certified welders fabricate cylindrical and rectangular storage tanks and accessories for petroleum products, chemicals, and water in capacities from 270 gallons to 50,000 gallons.  General Industries is also a leader in applying interior and exterior coatings to steel vessels.  They are experts in developing and recommending the proper coating system for a wide range of environments including coastal areas; and in recommending and applying interior coating systems for liquids ranging from jet fuel to chemicals to potable water. General Industries also maintains a fleet of delivery vehicles to provide unmatched customer service when it is time for delivery.

General Industries' aboveground tank fabrication capabilities include UL-142® Single and Double Wall Horizontals or Verticals, Fireguard® (Fire Protected), Flameshield® (Fire Resistant), Open and Closed Top Dikes, Oil/Water Separators, Double Wall and Fire Protected Generator Sub-Bases, Jet Fuel, Aviation Fuel, Motor Fuel, and Mobile Fueling Systems; their underground tank capabilities include UL-58 and UL-1746 Single and Double Wall STI-P3®, ACT-100® and ACT-100U®, Permatank®, General AquaSweep™ Oil/Water Separators.

General Industries fabricates using the following standards: Underwriters Laboratories, Steel Tank Institute, Petroleum Equipment Institute, Southwest Research Institute and National Fire Protection Association; exercising the following labels: UL-142, UL-58, UL-1746, UL-2085, UL-2215, SWRI, STI-F-911, STI-F-921, API-650, API-620, AWWA D100 & D102, UBC & IBC.  General Industries maintains a thorough quality control program, and participates in third party quality assurance programs by routine and random inspections of their facility by Underwriters Laboratories and Steel Tank Institute officials.
