Overview
Manufacturing engineers tend to be the last ones to get their hands on product data; despite being responsible for manufacturing that final product. To address this issue, some manufacturing engineers became experts focusing on running simulations. This focus led to the traditional manufacturing simulation software that catered to process complexities. Product design and manufacturing thus formed their own silos that rarely worked together.
As designs are being pushed to the limits with new shapes and materials for lightweighting, there is a great need for the community to explore manufacturability upfront to increase communication and minimize and preferably eliminate process complexities. solidThinking products under the Click2 brand are focused on both ends of the spectrum, helping bridge the gap with fast, easy, accurate and affordable tools for evaluating castings, stamping and extrusion product and process feasibility. This presentation will showcase compelling examples of a completely new approach of looking at the entire virtual design cycle to improve productivity and quality and improve profitability across the supply chain.
Key Takeaways
- Learn why early manufacturing feasibility is essential to eliminate downstream process complexity
- Understand how communication between the product and manufacturing is being bridged with a new approach from solidThinking Click2 brand of products
- Discover the details about the Click2 brand and how it's radically changing the concept of "design to manufacture" with a product centric approach
