The AMETEK Land SPOT Aluminium Extrusion Quench and Strip (AL EQS) is an advanced third generation application pyrometer for aluminum extruders that is specifically designed to work on low and uncertain emissivity aluminium production processes where regular pyrometers might struggle to provide accurate and reliable readings. It has the ability to measure a wide temperature range from 200 to 700 °C / 392 to 1292 °F.
The SPOT Actuator provides enhanced target alignment for the SPOT AL EQS and, when used in combination with the SPOT AL EQS, can further optimize plant efficiency and achieve even greater accuracy and cost savings for aluminum producers.
The combined system is extremely accurate and flexible, with application specific algorithms that make it especially suitable for use at the extruder press exit and quench position, as well as at mill entry and exit positions in hot rolling mills. In addition, the SPOT AL EQS pyrometer's algorithms can be customized and tuned for custom applications and specific aluminum grade.
