Overview

Creepfeed grinding is one of the most promising developments in advanced precision grinding. As compared to the conventional pendulum surface grinding, it provides great potential to increase productivity and accuracy at the same time. It has been a breakthrough in the case of deep and/or profiled slot grinding in difficult to machine materials and offers improved stability of thermal effects in the work surface.

This presentation will detail the seven keys to successful creepfeed grinding including optimization of the machine, workpiece fixturing, coolant system, wheel selection, dressing, grinding parameters and understanding the outputs. Specifically, attendees will learn how to combat thermal damage to aerospace components with detailed best practices in coolant optimization.

Key Take-Aways
