Actuation can sometimes be defined as the action on loss of power, as described by the phrases "stay put" or "close." This can also force users to use a specific type of actuator such as a pneumatic spring return.

This webinar presentation is designed to demonstrate how new technology can be implemented into actuators to allow for increased flexibly by using different types of stored energy, with the main focus being self-contained batteries. Anthony Vangasse, Product Management Lead / IQ Product Manager, Rotork

Tony Vangasse joined Rotork in 2020 as Product Management Lead. He drives his team to help customers address their technical and commercial pain-points, through Rotork differentiated technology. Tony has a degree in mechanical and materials engineering and post-graduate qualifications in engineering business management.

A time-served hydro-mechanical and controls engineer, Tony first worked in automation and heavy mobile plant equipment, subsequently designing primary flight control systems in aviation, before joining GE in 2008. Since then, he has worked within GE Oil & Gas subsea control systems (now Baker Hughes), initially managing the Advanced Technology Organization, and more recently as controls product leader, covering subsea production systems, intervention and life-of-field applications.

Mark Stone, Industrial Products Manager, Rotork

Mark Stone joined Rotork in 2005 as an international sales support engineer, and in 2009 he was promoted to U.K. Outside Sales, including service responsibilities. In 2011 he became international projects and key account manager gaining experience in different regions and industries, following this Mark as promoted to Industrial Product Manager in 2017.
