Overview

In the 5G era, antennas and arrays form the basis of connected devices and vehicles. Antenna design, simulation and placement on platforms form one of the largest and strongest application areas of CST Studio Suite. Users design and optimize components ranging from miniaturized antennas printed on densely populated PCBs to electrically large arrays and reflector antennas. Antenna Magus - a unique antenna design tool compliments the design workflow by enabling users to quickly choose antenna models based on a range of specifications.

RF components such as filters, multiplexers, and transducers are also essential with the proliferation and sub-division of frequency bands. It is important to mitigate interference between increasingly crowded systems of transceivers and hence filters with high dynamic range and sensitivity are crucial, but challenging to design and optimize. In this webinar, we will look at how CST Studio Suite helps design and simulate antennas and RF components across a diverse set of industries.

Wayne Tanner, Chief Operations Officer, Adaptive Corporation

Wayne is the Chief Operations Officer at Adaptive Corporation and is responsible for growing sales and services for the PLM, Additive Manufacturing, Simulation and Metrology lines of business. Prior to Adaptive, Wayne led Leading Edge Engineering, a Simulation Services consultancy before Adaptive acquired the company in 2015. With more than 20 years of experience in Simulation, Wayne's expertise spans Load Development, Weld Fatigue, Dynamics and Optimization. He works with Adaptive customers to solve complex product development challenges such as warranty/failure problems, optimized designs for improved performance (cost, weight, life, etc.), and defining accurate simulation processes and techniques to develop confidence in consistent simulation results. Wayne holds a B.S. from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and an MBA from Illinois State University.

Narayana Balu, Simulation Solution Consultant, Dassault Systémes

Narayana Balu is a Solution Consultant at Dassault Systèmes SIMULIA. His expertise lies in high frequency electromagnetic simulation especially Bio-electromagnetics and Multiphysics simulation for life sciences applications. He provides technical support and engineering services to customers and helps drive growth of SIMULIA's Bio-EM solutions. Narayana started as an application engineer at CST of America in 2014, which was acquired by Dassault Systèmes in 2016. He received his M.S in Electrical and Computer Engineering from UMass Amherst in 2014 and B-Tech in Electronics and Communication Engineering from NIT Trichy, India in 2009. His M.S. thesis focused on computational modeling of electromagnetic wave propagation over rough ocean surfaces. Prior to his Masters, Narayana was a technical consultant providing technology due diligence and IP monetization services to patent law firms.
