This presentation from Crown Plastics explains how big names in the material handling market are solving long-standing sortation and distribution problems with a simple solution: thin-gauge DuraSurf UHMW polyethylene tapes. Attendees will learn why the performance characteristics of UHMW polyethylene resins, and the production methods used by Crown to create adhesive-backed UHMW-PE tapes, can improve overall distribution system performance. Special attention is given to DuraSurf STS, a silicone impregnated UHMW specifically designed for the material handling industry. Originally applied to chutes and slides (eliminating the need for costly lubricants and waxes), STS is now used to reduce packaging jams, lower energy consumption in conveyor systems, and extend the working life of belts, beds, lacings, and drives.
