In 2017, the World Economic Forum ranked large-scale cyberattacks among the top technological risks to technical growth. Industrial control systems (ICSs) run our physical world, and with world epidemic ransomware such as WannaCry, Petya, NotPetya and Industroyer, digital cyber risks to ICS and critical infrastructure have begun to finally make it onto management and board agendas.

When asked, what would you say about the cyber security of your plant? If you haven't been a part of the discussions so far at your organization, it's likely that planning is underway for 2018 and you may have opportunity to have a say. The 2017 SANS Institute annual ICS Survey indicates:

  • Global ICS professionals think it's a critical and growing concern
  • IT doesn't understand unique plant requirements
  • Management has a false sense of their organization's cyber security

Join Jeff Lund (Belden), Tim Erlin (Tripwire) and Katherine Brocklehurst (both Belden and Tripwire), who will share recent industry research and offer IT - OT counterpoint perspectives on the current state of ICS security.

Key Takeaways

  • Top business challenges related to ICS cyber security
  • Trends your ICS peers are facing
  • The most common threat vectors you may not realize exist in your plant
  • What to do to protect, prevent and converge safely
