Frontier Airlines in June plans to launch new nonstop flights from its Denver hub to San Antonio and Akron-Canton, Ohio, and at the same time boost service to two West Coast cities.

The airline on June 15 will offer one daily flight to Akron-Canton and add a second on June 25. "Akron-Canton is fast becoming the low-fare hub for northeastern Ohio," said CFO Paul Tate. While Frontier won't face direct competition on the route to Denver, Akron-Canton is served by Northwest, Delta, AirTran, US Airways and United.

Also on June 26, Frontier will start two daily flights from Denver to San Antonio. "San Antonio is our fifth city in Texas, making the lone star state one of our top destinations," said Andrew Hudson, senior director-marketing and communications. Frontier will face competition from United, which has five daily flights on the route. Other carriers serving the city are Southwest, American and Continental.

Also this summer, Frontier plans to add frequencies to Seattle and San Jose "to match growing demand.
